Client: Pitter Platters

Pitter Platters Portfolio Screenshot

We worked with Cady Carnes on a brand new site for Pitter Platters, her independently-run ceramics store.  Pitter Platters sells one of a kind personalized gifts.  Ms. Carnes had no website and wanted to affordably expand her reach to customers.  Working off her sketches on paper, we created a WordPress site that met her goals of being simple, navigable, and budget-friendly.

While Cady’s fifty hand-made ornament product photos were beautifully shot, we painstakingly resized each product photo in order to create a gallery and shopping cart.

For the project, we:

  • Searched for an affordable, easy to maintain shopping cart that would allow for detailed product customization and chose the WordPress eStore Plugin, allowing for multi-level personalization with customizable order (year, name, message, etc.)
  • Created an animated GIF that properly displays product slideshow for all browsing devices (E.g., iPhone)
  • Added interface with social networking button
  • Added a calendar feature for client to announce her upcoming shows online
  • Created a Pitter Platters PayPal account through which various shipping rates are automatically calculated during checkout
  • Used NextGen gallery to display products
  • Optimized the site for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and analytics

The client had her design ideas on paper as sketches, so we were pleased to work with our Design Partner, Cindy Erni, who created a Photoshop layout from which we modeled the site.
